BUDDING Bolton musicians will now be able to record music in the town centre following the opening of the Talent Pool recording studios.

A launch party was held on Saturday at The Capitol, with entertainment provided by artists affiliated with the project, including professional singer/songwriters, classical and jazz musicians and Indie-rock group The Lottery Winners.

The studio which has been opened by Booths Music in Churchgate, Bolton, is based in Churchbank, opposite the Parish Church.

Colin Liptrot, who works at Booths Music Store, said: “The property has been properly sound insulated and modified for studio use, and the equipment has been installed according to professional industry standards.

Studio prices will be reasonable and will depend on the requirements of the artist.

“We will tailor packages to suit.

“The demand for the studio has come from the volume of customers and students at Booth’s Music, who have highlighted that there is no similar service in the area they can utilise.”

The aim of Talent Pool is to build the profile of local musical talent.

It also offers a professional recording facility, designed to promote and help up-and-coming artists.

Mr Liptrot said: “Whether you write your own songs or wish to perform to a backing track, Talent Pool is dedicated to maximising your musical talents in a relaxed environment.

“We hope to encourage musicians to embrace the studio experience and be proud to have a mixed and mastered product that can sit comfortably among their own CD collection.”

Artist promotion services will also be available and will include T-shirt design and print packages, PA and engineer hire, van and tour vehicles, a roster of credible venues, advertising, media events, CD/DVD artwork and duplication, music video filming, photography and theatrics as well as special effects and make-up.
