Take a trip down memory lane

Take a trip down memory lane Take a trip down memory lane

WE are inviting readers to take a trip down Memory Lane with this set of nostalgic prints from The Bolton News archives.

Every month we will be offering a different set of prints featuring aspects of life in the town.

And it is fitting that we are starting with Wanderers Nat Lofthouse and the iconic Burnden Park. Nat who is a Wanderers legend and who was nicknamed the Lion of Vienna after his amazing performance in England's 3–2 victory over Austria, in 1952, is pictured in action going for a goal, and one of him on the shoulders of teammates when Bolton won the FA Cup in 1958. The third photograph is an aerial view of Burnden Park, from 1957, the scene of many of Nat’s victories.

To buy any – or all – of the prints, you need to collect tokens from the same week, printed in The Bolton News every day. You will need THREE tokens and one must be from the Saturday edition.

You can buy one, two or three of the 8” x 6 “ prints, and the more you buy, the cheaper they are.

The first token was posted on Monday and others were included today and yesterday. See the paper for more information or contact Jackie Longbottom on 01204 537279.
