A NEW pole dancing competition held in Bolton for the first time was a roaring success.
A packed audience at the Albert Halls watched as dancers from across the UK competed in the inaugural UK Pole Artistes Championships, organised by Westhoughton- based JLN Pole Fitness.
Judges Sam Remmer, Pippa Caesar, Deb Riley, Karen Chaundry and Aimee Lawson ran the rule over the competitors, while Westhoughton girl Jess Leanne Norris and Bolton’s Thai boxing champion, Sandy Holt, hosted the show. Miss Norris, who also organised the event, said: “It went absolutely fantastically well.
“It was an amazing night.
The girls all performed well and the audience seemed to enjoy it.
“We will definitely be having the event again next year.”
There were four winners on the night: Sian Rogers Jones was the intermediate winner; Kimberley Fraser took the advanced prize; Zara Harberry took the instructors’ crown; and Penny Howarth was the best professional.
