A FASHION student who has designs on success has already made her mark in the competitive field.

Beth Tinker from Bromley Cross, has seen her work on show in the high street after developing an advertising campaign for an optometrist.

The 21-year-old who is studying fashion promotion at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) designed a poster, leaflets and developed a social media campaign to get more students through the door.

Her Take Note campaign also offered a discount and a chance to win a pair of Ray Bans sunglasses.

The former Thornleigh Salesian College pupil undertook all of the artwork and photography herself.

Beth said: “It’s a great feeling to walk past the shop and see my own design in the window.

“I was shocked when my work was selected as the winner; I’ve really enjoyed the project.”

Broadhurst Optometrist approached the university looking to tap into student talent and decided to set a design brief.

Optical advisor Lesley Hacking said: “Our business places a strong emphasis on fashion so collaborating with UCLan’s fashion department seemed ideal.

"I was amazed at the results, as the quality of every entrant’s work was of industry standard.

“From the first moment of Beth’s pitch I was captivated by the concept and the images.

“We have comple-mented her work by surrounding the poster with funky frames to reflect current trends.”

Beth’s display will remain in Broadhurst’s shop window in Preston until Friday, October 17.
