MEET madcap Elliot Martos — Bolton's very own Father Christmas.

The fun-loving student, aged 20, is ho-ho-hoping to raise cash for charity by spending EVERY day until Christmas Day dressed as Santa Claus.

Elliot, of Cranleigh Close, Blackrod, will do everything kitted out in the famous red suit — from attending lectures, to going to church on Sundays, walking the dog and everything in between.

University of Bolton student Elliot is loving the idea of turning himself into Father Christmas and only takes his outfit off when it's evening and time for bed.

He said: “I just decided it would be a fun thing to do in the run up to Christmas and hopefully I can raise a bit of money along the way.

“It is going to be interesting going about my daily business dressed as Father Christmas, my mum is going to have to wash it every week so it doesn’t get too smelly.”

He added: “I am allowed to take it off at night, but at all other times I will be Bolton’s Father Christmas.”

Kind-hearted Elliot is carrying out the charity challenge in a bid to raise money for Urban Outreach, a Christian charity which aims to work with disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals in and around the borough.

He chose the charity because it has links with The Bridge Church where he regularly attends.

Elliot is no stranger to spreading a little cheer to others — when he was 15-years-old a video of him offering free hugs to the people of Bolton became a viral hit on the internet.

The psychology student purchased his outfit from the Fancy That store in Chorley Old Road and is looking forward to getting suited up.
