SMITHILLS School Senior Brass Band entertained shoppers over the weekend as they raise money for their trip to Euro Disney.

The band, directed by Chris Wormald, an Assistant Head Teacher at Smithills School, performed a number of traditional and modern pieces — including the James Bond soundtrack.

In July 2013 the band were invited to Euro Disney to help celebrate 20 years of the cartoon empire in Paris. The trip was such a success the band was invited back — and it plans to return to Paris in July.

After the previous visit a Disney Organisation spokesperson said "By far, the best band or ensemble we have ever, ever had at Disneyland Paris."

The collection will help fund transporting the 55 musicians and their instruments from Bolton to Paris, which will cost several thousands of pounds.

They can be heard playing outside Marks and Spencer every Saturday and Sunday before Christmas between 11.30am and 1.30pm where a team of collectors will be ready to receive donations.
