HATS off to these festive youngsters who celebrated the season of goodwill in style.

Children and staff Chorley New Road Primary School in Horwich donned Christmas hats in support of NSPCC's Bobble Hat Day entering into the true spirit of the festive season.

Creative children customised their hats, while others made their own Christmas head gear.

Pupils sported everything from Santa hats to Christmas trees and office and dinner staff as well as teachers all dug out their hats to join in the fun.

Office manager Marj Fryer said: "Everybody took part — the children and all the staff,.

"The children looked fantastic and the staff loved taking part we wore the hats all day."

She added: "It was the day of the Christmas dinner so it was an extra special day."

The school raised £200 for the children's charity.

Anahita Kesharwanr, aged 10, said: "Bobble Day was the most fun day ever because we got to wear silly hats.

"One of my teachers said the crazier the better.

"We also enjoyed our Christmas dinner on the day so it was a perfect mix.

"I was thrilled that our new headteacher Miss Burrows took part."

Bobble Hat Day was celebrated up and down the country, with friends, colleagues and children digging out their favourite festive hat to raise money for the NSPCC and ChildLine service thisChristmas.

And those taking part were invited to post pictures on social media using the #bobblehatday.
