PUPILS at Eagley Infants School gave the nativity story a modern twist for their end of term Christmas show.
The children, in years one and two, brought the house down with superb singing and acting of the well-known tale, featuring angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph and their donkey.
Head teacher Tracy Lawton sang the youngsters' praises for their hard work and enthusiasm.
She said: "They didn't have much practice but they did fantastically well. We got a drama coach in and he worked with the children to pull the action together with the singing. They loved every minute of it, and that came through in the performance.
"It was a modern version of the nativity story and we encouraged a lot of the pupils to sing solos. The play was set in a school and the care taker Mr Potts made baubles every night to represent scenes from the Christmas story.
"We did two performances and they were great. It was a real team effort between the pupils, teachers and supportive parents."
