PUPILS at Devonshire Road Primary School marked Chinese New Year by making their own oriental artefacts.
The youngsters made Beijing opera masks, dragons and big jigsaw pieces of different animals.
Pufmeena Ward, a year five teacher at the school, said: "The children all got stuck in and were really keen to learn about different cultures."
Hafsa Ashraf, a pupil at the school, aged nine, said: "I really enjoyed making the masks, because it's the first time I have ever got my hands dirty."
Fellow Ayesha Waris, aged 10, said: "I really enjoyed using mud rock to make the Beijing masks."
Heleemah Bobat, aged 10, said: "It was a really fun day and I got to learn about Chinese new year."
