YOUNGSTERS in Farnworth showcased their musical skills as part of a community creative arts project.

The weekly project, which is being run by Insyt Media Productions, is aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour and is open to anyone aged 10 and over.

Its key components include DJing, creative writing, film and media and music production skills.

Robert Stevenson, who founded Insyt Media Productions in 2008, says the project has worked wonders with many youngsters over the years.

Mr Stevenson, aged 37, of Deane, said: "I'm really impressed that kids as young as 10 or 11 years old can pick up a pen and write some of the music they do.

"There's been a lot of positive involvement lately and the kids have produced some amazing work.

"We never discriminate or target a particular group — this project is open to anybody within reason.

"It's helped a lot of kids come out of their shell."

The project takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at Farnworth fire station in Albert Road from 6pm to 9pm.
