JUGGLING his new television programme, family life and fundraising, Bolton presenter Vernon Kay is as busy as ever.

But the 40-year-old took time out to talk Strictly Come Dancing rumours and reveal how he once had to dupe bouncers into letting him into a Bolton nightclub.

Vernon, who hosts new ITV1 game show 1000 Heartbeats, said he would not rule out appearing on Strictly Come Dancing — hosted by wife Tess Daly — but there are no plans in the pipeline.

The father-of-two said: "I've not had one conversation with anyone at the BBC. It's that simple."

But if he did sign up to the BBC dancing show, Vernon would have plenty of dance moves to showcase harking back to his clubbing days in Manchester and Bolton.

Vernon, who teamed up with his American football team mates on Friday to raise money for Comic Relief at Manchester Airport, remembers a night out at the Temple, St Georges Road, with a group of friends in the early 1990s.

He said: "The opening night of Temple, they would not let us in because we had jeans on.

"We went to the back of the queue, took them off and put them on inside out and they thought we were wearing slacks — I swear to God."

Vernon can currently be seen fronting 1000 Heartbeats on weekday afternoons, which pits contestants against a clock — 1,000 of their own heartbeats — to win money.

Vernon, who plays American football for The London Warriors, said: "It's going really well.

"In this day and age of social media, you get instant feedback and everything has been really positive."
