A SCIENCE experiment proved to be a piece of cake — quite literally.
Pupils at Sharples School were challenged to make a science themed cake and they rose to the challenge.
Creative cooks highlighted many different aspects of the subjects including chemicals, scientific equations and much more.
Sophie Olive, aged 11, said: "The cake is modelled on a bottle of poison.
"It took five hours to do and we did it at home as part of science week."
