WILDLIFE lovers turned butterfly detectives as they took to the great outdoors.
Along with the local Wildlife Watch Club, local people undertook a butterfly count, wearing waterproofs to protect them from the unseasonal weather.
They walked through Seven Acres Country Park armed with an information pack to see how many different types of butterflies they could spot before documenting them.
And participants also had the chance to make their own butterfly feeders.
Wildlife Watch is a club which allows local people to explore local places and get involved in different events and activities.
The local group Seven Acres Swifts Wildlife Watch Club promotes community activities in and around Seven Acres Country Park.
The next organised event by the Friends of Seven Acres is this Sunday where people can help and learn about bird identification.
It starts at 9.30am and people should meet at the Environmental Resource Centre.
Wildlife and heritage-themed events and activities are open to all.
