A NURSERY has proved it is a class act.

And youngsters at New Beginnings Childcare could not wait to show Mayor of Westhoughton Cllr Lynda Winrow-Baker why the nursery has been marked as "good with outstanding" features by Ofsted.

Inspectors found that children are motivated to learn at the Westhoughton nursery, because staff capture the children's interests.

They said in their report: "As a result, children of all ages develop a good range of skills and attitudes that prepare them well for further learning and eventually, school."

And school inspectors described teaching as "good and at times, outstanding" and the nursery as a place where children are "encouraged to reach their full potential".

Sharon Ward, co-owner, said: "We are very proud to announce our recent good Ofsted grade with aspects of outstanding.

"We have achieved this through our staff being knowledgeable and dedicated led by our committed nursery manager Helen Downs, along with the ongoing support of our amazing parents.

"We would also like to thank Anna-Marie Watters, councillor for Westhoughton South who arranged the lovely visit from the Mayor of Westhoughton to support business in Westhoughton South.

"We as owners would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support in making our nursery a fantastic, happy and nurturing environment for our children."
