AHOY there! Pirates have jumped ship in Egerton.

The young pirates came ashore at the start of the week in search of treasure as they took part in themed activities run by the popular Schools Out Kids Club.

The ship was moored at Walmsley Unitarian Church, when the gang of pirates cracked clues to get to the treasure.

Kim McClelland from the club, said: "The children have had a fun time.

"They have walked the plank, played pin the patch on the pirate.

"The pirates had to solve the clues to get the code to open the treasure chest."

A wooden cabin was converted into a ship deck complete with goblets with gold and skeletons.

The week ended with the young ones going to Botany Bay to meet Captain Puddle, while the older ones took part in an adventure activity putting their skills to the test.
