THIS winner of this award simply melted the hearts of everyone at the ceremony.

The nomination for Primary School Pupil of the Year came from fellow St Peter and St Paul's RC Primary School pupil Keegan Burke who put his friend Subhan Khan forward for the honour.

This category was sponsored by Paul Davies Kitchens and Appliances

He wrote: "I think Subhan deserves the award because he is kind and outstanding and he is one of my best friends."

And it not just Keegan who thinks that, the rest of the youngsters at his school think the same of this caring boy, who gets on with everyone and makes the most of the opportunities given to him — making his family and teachers very very proud.

The nine-year-old, who lives in Great Lever with his family, said: "I am very excited and happy to have won the award.

"Keegan is my friends and will always be my friend."

Proud mum Saima, aged 32, said: "I am really proud of him.

"He is doing really well at school, he is really into his football.

"The school really helps all the children and he is doing so well."

Headteacher of the Bolton school, Trish Grogan added: "It is absolutely fantastic Subhan received the award.

"All the boys and girls at the school think he is wonderful.

"I had no idea Keegan nominated him for the award, Subhan is just a gorgeous little boy."
