SIXTH-former Helena Gonda wants everyone to know what a wonderful school she goes to.
So the 17-year-old from Canon Slade has taken on the role of public relations officer for the Bradshaw-based school.
This is the second year running the school has appointed a student to promote the school because senior teachers say that pupils are best placed to see what is happening and what is of interest to the wider community.
Helena said: “Canon Slade is well known for its high academic standards, but there is a lot more going on at the school which I want everyone to know about.
“We have so many extra-curricular activities and opportunities for pupils outside of class.”
Helena, who is studying for her A-levels, hopes to read English at Sheffield University. She said: “I would like to go into journalism and doing this role will help.
“I am in charge of writing the newsletter as well as telling the media about what is going on in school.”
Helena added: “I’m really enjoying it.”
