A PRIMARY school invests in every one of its pupils and staff —and that is official.

St Peter’s CE Primary School in Farnworth is celebrating after achieving the Bronze Investors in People Award.

The school first achieved the award in 2005, but knowing it did more than just meet the minimum requirement of putting its pupils and staff first, it decided to apply for the bronze award.

The award recognises the school’s “investment” in pupils, teachers and non-teaching staff through to the governing body.

Assessors for Investors in People highlighted that St Peter’s CE Primary is dedicated to raising achievement, constantly looking to further improve the quality of teaching, maintaining and Improving Pupil behaviour, attendance and safety while “embedding ambition and driving improvement”.

They also recognised staff and governors undergo professional development which impacts on pupils, as well as enabling staff to gain more qualifications.

Co-headteacher of the school Lynn Williams said: “We have upgraded from standard to bronze, and in fact exceeded the requirement for bronze in many areas.”
