AN up-and-coming dance DJ from Bolton is looking forward to bringing music to the town as he prepares to start his own weekly radio show.

Alex English, a music producer and one half of the electro house duo MojoFluxx, will host his first radio show, called Al’s House, on Bolton FM on November 7.

This will be the first of a series of weekly shows every Friday night, between 9pm and 10pm, which will feature non-stop house music from signed and unsigned artists.

Mr English’s latest achievement tops off a successful past few months for the 27-year-old. He became a father for the first time in August — the day after releasing his single Need To Know on iTunes.

With an increasingly busy schedule, both in and out of the studio, he is looking forward to his latest challenge — and cannot wait to get started.

Mr English, of Amblethorn Drive, Sharples, said: “I’m raring to go. I’ve been looking forward to this for absolutely ages.

“It’s a real milestone for me.

“I want to make it a bit different from your average radio show and show people the talent that’s out there in Bolton and across Greater Manchester.

“This is a completely new experience for me, because a lot of the DJing I’ve done is in nightclubs, so I’ve not had to talk much. I’ve got to start improving my banter, now I’m on the radio!”

Mr English, a former Turton High School pupil, has received praise from some of the biggest names in dance music, including BBC Radio 1 DJ Shadow Child and the German DJ and music producer Loco Dice.

He has also been featured on BBC Introducing, which showcases unsigned artists, on BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio Manchester, as well as clocking up thousands of views on YouTube. To listen to Mr English’s music, visit soundcloud.com/alenglish and soundcloud.com/alhouseradio.
