Comedy club at the Octagon (Sunday, 7.30pm)

An evening of comedy from Bolton's most exciting and up-and-coming local talent. The comedians performing have all won their place on the Octagon stage after battling it out in a competition launched by Crompton Place in partnership with Octagon Theatre, hosted by none other than Bolton's very own Dave Spikey.

Don't miss the chance to say you 'saw them first', and catch the stars of the future at their first professional gig! Competition winner Chris Kehoe will headline the event, with support from runner up Cassie Atkinson.

Recommended for ages 14 and over.

 

The Pretend Beatles – Moses Gate (Friday, 9pm)

Tribute band bringing Beatlemania to Bolton. The Pretend Beatles will have it in abundance as they take to the stage at Moses Gate in Farnworth on Friday evening.

The band not only look like the Fab Four — they pride themselves on their musicianship, emulating their heroes’ sound down to their harmonies and guitar solos.

People can expect more than 30 songs from the band’s back catalogue off all their albums, spanning from Please Please Me to Let It Be.

 

Top line up of local talent at Horwich RMI (Saturday, 7.30pm)

See a number of Bolton bands at one gig, including the Jade Assembly, the Jordan Allan Band, alt rock band Two Weeks Running, indie rockers Lofthouse, singer-songwriter Mike Roberts and DJ Ryan Ambler starting at 8pm.

 

Jacked at the Bleachworks – first birthday bash (Saturday, 9pm)

Just 12 months since the Jacked launch party with Jenny Harrison and Danny Whitehead, and a number of other successful nights at The Bleachworks in Blackburn Road, the event's founder aims for a bigger and better event this weekend.

Keith Laverty, with the help of partner Noel Daniels (Keef & Noel), has pulled out all the stops for the special occasion, which will host Out in the Sticks resident Russell Marland, who will be playing a three hour vinyl set on Saturday.

 

Stillmarillion - Fish era Marillion Tribute at the Railway Venue in Bromley Bross (Saturday, 8pm)

Billed as the world’s number one Marillion tribute (Fish era) - even Steve Rothery’s played with them.

Enjoy fish era classics such as Cinderella Search, Incubus, Sugar Mice, Lavender, Heart of Lothian and the Hogarth era numbers Easter, Waiting to Happen and a version of Afraid of Sunlight.
