BOLTON'S winter wonderland will open tomorrow with a 150ft snow slide a new addition to the festive attraction.

The slide, which has taken pride of place in Newport Street will be joined by a 255 square metre ice rink and Santa's grotto in Victoria Square.

Following this, on Thursday December 11, a giant 100ft Ferris wheel will open in Victoria Square, offering dazzling views across Bolton.

The council has arranged the attractions, which will be in the town centre until January 4, to attract shoppers and boost trade over the festive period.

The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Martin Donaghy, will officially open proceedings at 10.30am tomorrow at the ice rink.

Olympic hopeful, 14-year-old professional ice skater Harriet Beatson will then put on a show-stopping performance.

Singer Camisha Carter, dressed as Princess Elsa from the hit Disney film Frozen, will then sing 'Let It Go’ before the attractions open to the public at 11am.

Opening times and prices vary. Tickets are available online at visitbolton.com/winterwonderland and from the on-site box office.

Leader of Bolton Council Cllr Cliff Morris said: “This Christmas there is something for everyone to enjoy in our festive programme, the new addition of the snow slide will be a sure hit."
