COULD the country's next singing sensation or dancing dog be discovered at a Bolton pub?

The Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) production team will be at The Victory pub in Chorley Old Road, tomorrow night hoping to find the next Susan Boyle, Ashleigh and Pudsey or Diversity.

Producers from the ITV1 talent show got in touch with the pub's landlord, Martin O'Gorman, after they spotted he was running his own version — Bolton's Got Talent.

Would-be stars have been showcasing their skills on a Friday night in a bid to win £1,000 at the grand final in February.

The BGT team will make a one-off visit to the pub — between 7pm and 11pm — during their biggest ever audition tour, which is calling in at towns across the country in a bid to find "wonderful, weird and astounding" acts for next year’s series.

Mr O'Gorman, who has run the pub for nearly a year, said: "I was flabbergasted. They said they usually do the big cities and they have not done anything like this.

"We were really shocked but Bolton has got talent. You only have to look at Peter Kay and Vernon Kay.

"If there are any Kays that try out, I'm sure they'll get through to the next round.

"We have got about 20 people who have entered so far, dancers and singers.

"People need to confirm their attendance beforehand then I can book them a time slot."

Britain’s Got Talent is open to any performer of any age, from any background, with any talent — from comedians to contortionists, dancers to drag acts and acrobats to animals.

Amelia Brown, the show's executive producer, said “Britain’s Got Talent has an amazing record of celebrating amazing talent and changing people’s lives — from Susan Boyle and Diversity through to Paul Potts, Ashleigh and Pudsey and this year’s winners Collabro.

"They all took a chance and applied for the show and that’s what we want the people to do this year. We can’t wait to see the talent that Bolton has to offer."
