PETER Kay is filming in Horwich.
The comedian caused a flurry of excitement when he turned up with a film crew this morning.
The funny man, from Bolton, was spotted in Winter Hey Lane and in Cafe Brambles.
A member of the crew said the filming was for upcoming sitcom Car Share, which is due to be aired on the BBC in spring 2015.
Chelsea Lane, from Celebrations, said: "He has been here all morning.
"There's been quite a bit of hype outside."
The comedian's visit to the town came ahead of Phoenix Nights live shows at the Manchester Arena, being staged next January and February.
