Here's our guide to what you can do in and around Bolton this weekend.

1. Get your skates on and paint the town red — green and yellow — at a UV paint party at Bolton's Winter Wonderland ice rink. Sessions are at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm and, by the end, both you and the rink will be more lit up than a Christmas tree with luminous paint covering you from head to toe.

2. Enjoy a mulled wine and pulled pork baguette at Christmas mini markets outside a Bolton town centre venue on Saturday. There will be one food stall and one drinks stall, outside The Bar, Nelson Square, also serving Christmas cocktails.
