CHRISTMAS shoppers were entertained by Bolton Caledonia Pipe Band which added a Scottish flavour to seasonal festivities in the town centre.
They were joined by guest Catherine Brown, who performed traditional Highland dancing to the pipe music.
The band has been performing in the town centre every Sunday since the end of November as part of the Bolton Council's Winter Wonderland spectacular.
Pipe Sergeant Steve Dreaver said: "We were invited to perorm in the town centre by Bolton Council as part of the Christmas celebrations.
"Shoppers really enjoy it, the public really take to us and there was a really good atmosphere."
He added: "We will be back in the town centre this Sunday."
The performances coincided with the opening of Bolton's winter wonderland at the end of November, which this year features a 150ft snow slide a new addition to the festive attraction.
The slide, which has taken pride of place in Newport Street. There is also a 255 square metre ice rink and Santa's grotto in Victoria Square.
Last Thursday a giant 100ft Ferris wheel will open in Victoria Square, offering dazzling views across Bolton.
The council has arranged the attractions, which will be in the town centre until January 4, to attract shoppers and boost trade over the festive period.
