AIMEE-Jayne Cavanagh does not appear to be a typical van driver.

The 29-year-old logistics co-ordinator was filmed for Take Me Out as 'Aimee-Jayne the van driver from Bolton', hoping to catch the eye of Mr Right.

The former Turton High School pupil, who works for a Blackburn-based firm, has been appearing on the ITV dating show since it launched earlier this month.

Miss Cavanagh, who also works in a pub at weekends, said: "I used to drive the vans a lot, now I spend more of my time in the office."

She applied to go on the show — hosted by Bolton's Paddy McGuinness — while watching last year's series.

She said: "I was having one of those years where you do crazy things.

"I didn't hear anything at first — it was about eight months later.

"They said, do you still fancy applying for the show and I was still single.

"It was just a random thought I had."

Miss Cavanagh, who grew up in Egerton and Bromley Cross before moving to Horwich and now Blackburn, went to the studios in Maidstone to film the show in November.

She said: "It was a laugh but it was really tiring.

"It was just full-on, literally from the day we arrived — early starts, late finishes, lots of hair, make-up and wardrobe.

"The first couple of shows, I think everyone was really nervous.

"None of us had been in that situation before.

"It's quite intimating when Paddy comes towards you and speaks to you and there's a live audience.

"The shows take obviously a lot longer to film than it appears.

"But it becomes a little bit more natural to you.

"Paddy is absolutely hilarious.

"I'm totally on his level. Everything he said, I was just in stitches."

While remaining tight-lipped on whether or not she found romance, Miss Cavanagh does say she made lots of friends and is even organising a reunion party to be held at celebrity hotspot Neighbourhood, in Manchester's swanky Spinningfields next month.

She said: "I think we had the best group of girls this year.

"I have made lots of good friends and I have even ended up making contact with people I didn't meet on the show.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting them at the reunion."

Take Me Out is on this Saturday on ITV at 8.05pm.
