FROM the clubbing paradise of Ibiza to the bright lights of Las Vegas, DJ Danny Howard has played at the world's hottest nightspots.

But now the Radio 1 DJ is bringing his dance music pals to the The Premier Suite, Macron Stadium in Horwich, as part of his Nothing Else Matters tour.

The 27-year-old will be joined by fellow Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac and Philip George, who recently burst onto the scene with dance hit Wish You Were Mine, for the night on Saturday, February 7.

Danny, who presents Radio 1's Dance Anthems, said: "It's a brand that I created a couple of years ago but now feels like the right time to go at it properly.

"The concept is to focus on UK talent.

"There are a lot of great DJs and producers that don't get the platform they need."

Joining forces with long time friend and business partner Alex Huckerby, Danny is providing a stage to show off the best new talent in the UK in a bid to revitalise the club scene.

He said: "The industry is so competitive, you sometimes need an opportunity.

"We are not promising anything but what we are doing is giving DJs a chance to play in a live environment.

"It's just really exciting. The UK is sometimes overlooked in terms of dance music.

"I want to go out and say, we're still the best at partying.

"It's about choosing destinations that are not obvious.

"We are doing places like Liverpool, London and Birmingham but also Hull and Bolton — instead of Manchester.

"I think a lot of people who live in those towns sometimes can't make it to the bigger cities."

Danny was originally supposed to be joined for the gig at The Macron Stadium by Need U (100%) DJ Duke Dumont, who has now been replaced by Annie and Philip.

Duke — real name Adam Dyment — had to cancel because he will now be attending the 57th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 8, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles where his track I Got U has been nominated in the best dance recording category.

Danny, from Blackpool, said: "He rang me last week and he was really apologetic.

"The way it came around, he felt bad for everyone that had bought tickets.

"He definitely cares and wants to reschedule.

"But it's exciting that Annie is going to be doing it.

"It's going to be a great night for everyone.

"I have never played Bolton.

"When I first heard, they said, you are playing at the stadium — I said, on the pitch?

"They said, you're not quite Coldplay just yet.

"But I've heard it's a great room."

The Blackpool FC fan remembers watching matches at the then Reebok Stadium with a school friend, who was a BWFC fan, in the days of Jay-Jay Okocha.

He said: "I remember it being a great atmosphere.

"It's a nice stadium."

Danny was discovered through a Radio 1 talent search, which led him to open the legendary Radio 1 Ibiza Weekend in 2011 — which is celebrating 20 years this summer.

Danny said: "That's going to be epic.

"My radio show is going great.

"The figures are the highest they have ever been since it started two-and-a-half years ago."

He is also set to release a Dance Anthems compilation in February, before heading out to play gigs in America later in the year.

Speaking of the dance music scene in America, he said: "In the last four or five years, it's kicked off on a huge scale.

"There's a different festival every single week.

"A Tuesday night, midweek gig will be full.

"They are really embracing it which is great for dance music.

"It's having that ripple, snowball effect for the rest of the world.

"If you told me I would be playing in America, full stop, I probably wouldn't have believed you — let alone some of the cities I have.

"It's amazing just to go and visit those places that I never thought I would even be able to visit."

Exploit Events Presents Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Philip George will be at The Premier Suite, Macron Stadium, on Saturday, February 7, from 9pm until 4am.
