DANNY Jones and his McBusted bandmates are heading out on tour once again — and they promise it will be 'most excellent'.

The Most Excellent Adventure Tour, inspired by 1989 film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, will land at the Manchester Arena on March 21 and 22.

The 28-year-old, from Bromley Cross, said: "It's going to have a whole arcade theme to it, a quite early '90s theme.

"It's got what the last show didn't have.

"The last tour didn't really have a theme to it.

"It had a flying saucer and a DeLorean and all that stuff.

"We never really hold back on budget, we're not really about how much things cost and how much we can make because we want people to come back.

"We may be breaking a world record but I can't say what. We need to build something first.

"We're really excited."

The tour will take in 18 arenas across the country, in cities including London, Glasgow and Dublin, but there is one place Danny would love to see on the list.

He said: "We were just saying, Bolton has got the arena — I've been there to watch Amir Khan.

"The boys were saying, why have we never played there before?

"I've told my management about it but we've never played there."

Perhaps McBusted — formed when the bands McFly and Busted merged in 2013 — could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Coldplay and Pink and play the Macron Stadium?

He said: "That would be amazing — that would be so good."

Although there are no plans for him to grace the pitch with his bandmates any time soon, he is delighted to have been asked to play in former Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies' testimonial match in the summer.

The BWFC supporter added: "I used to play a couple of semi-pro matches. I used to play for Bolton Lads Club and for Turton.

"Now I try and play every Monday with my lads.

"Jack Whitehall has a team in London.

"I get to play the odd day, here and there."

He was also thrilled when his team managed to hold Liverpool FC to a 0-0 draw at Anfield last week and is hoping for a FA Cup win from Wednesday's replay at the Macron.

He said: "I am yeah, I won't be able to watch it because I will be in Japan, flying out to Australia.

"But if I've got wireless at the airport to watch it on my phone, I'll keep up with it."

The Air Guitar singers enjoyed a sell-out tour last year and released a self-titled album last month, much to the delight of fans.

The former Thornleigh pupil said: "The last tour started off as 11 dates and we ended up doing 36 and Hyde Park.

"We have got a new album out but we are going to stick to playing the hits.

"It's been good. We only expected to do one tour and that was it.

"It's been so well-received.

"We will do it until the fans don't want it.

"Making the album was good fun."

Another highlight of recent months for Danny was his marriage to model Georgia Horsley, aged 28.

The pair tied the knot in the former Miss England's hometown of Malton, North Yorkshire, which Danny described as a " beautiful day".

With Danny's McBusted career going from strength to strength, how do the newlyweds cope with his touring and travel commitments?

He said: "Over the years, she has had to get used to all that.

"She has adapted really well. She's busy modelling and presenting.

"It's quite nice when you have an evening together.

"I love tour rehearsals because we get to spend really good time together.

"But it makes us appreciate it more and it keeps in fresh.

"Our time is more precious."
