IAN McKellen has announced when his new Sherlock Holmes film will get its first cinematic release.
The former Bolton schoolboy announced on Twitter that Mr Holmes would be shown in selected theatres in America on Friday, July 19.
Mr Holmes tells the story of Arthur Conan Doyle's popular fictional detective in his senior years.
