1. Flock to Rivington Pike for the annual Good Friday walk.
Join thousands of people throughout the day who trek to the top of the pike – a tradition started by Christians in the 19th century to remember Christ’s suffering on the cross.
2. Paint eggs and make palm crosses at an Easter fun day in Victoria Square on Saturday.
There will also be entertainment including actors from next year’s Passion for Bolton, stalls and an Easter egg hunt between 11am and 2pm.
3. Watch the world’s first Cinderella story from China at a Bolton theatre.
Yeh Shen – a story which first appeared in ninth century China, more than 1,000 years before the first European Cinderella story – will be at the Octagon at noon and 2pm on Saturday.
4. Enjoy music from more than 70 singers and bands at five Bolton town centre venues on Easter Sunday.
B Charity Music Festival is returning for a third year with wristbands costing £3.
5. Get down to Smithills Hall on Easter Monday for an Easter egg hunt. There will also be craft activities from 1pm.
