SEVEN was indeed a lucky number for Bradshaw Cricket Club this weekend as the seventh annual beer festival was hailed a roaring success.
Dozens of drinkers flocked to the club, off Bolton Road, over the weekend to get their fix of a selection of real ales, lagers and ciders chosen by Bank Top Brewery.
Also entertaining revellers at the festival, which ran from Friday to Sunday, was live music from Circus Freak and Radio Edit, along with an acoustic set by Rob Jones.
Friendly cricket matches against Tottington and Accrington were also played.
The beer festival raised money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the British Heart Foundation in memory of Derek Kay – the vice-chairman of the Bolton Cricket League, who died suddenly in January at the age of 60 – and Denis Hobson, who died on March 30, 2011 aged 74.
There was a minute’s silence in remembrance of Mr Kay before Saturday’s game, which begun at 1.30pm.
