TAKE Me Out star Paddy McGuinness is set to perform two exclusive gigs on home soil ahead of his UK tour in September.

Tickets go on sale on Friday for two warm-up shows of Paddy's new tour — Daddy McGuinness .

Paddy will perform just a stone's throw from his old Bolton stomping ground — at the Met in neighbouring Bury — on August 27 and 28.

The exclusive intimate shows will see Paddy try out new material before embarking on his Daddy McGuiness UK tour.

The tour will be his first set of major stand-up dates since 2011.

He said: "I’m really looking forward to being back on tour, I’ve missed it.

“I’ve got a great new show planned - Daddy McGuinness. Amongst many other things, I’ll be sharing several stories about becoming a first time dad and parenthood."

Paddy's tour launches in September and despite not playing his hometown of Bolton, he will be appearing in Blackburn in November, Blackpool in January, and two dates at the Lowry in Manchester in February,

Meanwhile, it was revealed that legendary broadcaster Jeremy Paxman is a fan of Paddy's show Take Me Out.

The presenter spent 25 years fronting the political programme and hosted his final show last summer.

But he told Radio Times magazine that instead of watching the BBC show — which is now presented by Evan Davis — he preferred to get an early night.

Revealing his favourite shows he said: "I have watched The Only Way Is Essex. I didn't like it as much as I like Take Me Out — which I think is a fantastic show."

Asked whether he was serious about enjoying ITV's dating show Mr Paxman said: "I do!"

Tickets for Paddy's warm-up shows cost £12.50 and go on sale 9am Friday, May 1, and will be available from the Met venue by calling 0161 761 2216.
