LET the cobbles see the comedian — Take Me Out star Paddy McGuinness has signed up for a guest role in Coronation Street.
The dating show host is set to play a survival enthusiast who meets the Tinker and Dobbs families on a camping holiday.
McGuinness, aged 41, will play wilderness explorer Dougie Ryan for six episodes over the summer in the ITV soap.
Paddy, whose Phoenix Nights co-star Peter Kay appeared in one episode as Shelley Unwin's date Eric Gartside in 2004, said: "Being asked to appear in Coronation Street was a very special moment for me.
"I remember Peter telling me how much he enjoyed his guest spot on the show and I can't wait to get started.
"An iconic and much-loved show not just in the UK but around the world. The character I'll be playing is very funny and I'm sure the Corrie fans will love him."
The soap's executive producer Stuart Blackburn said: "It's an absolute delight to be working with Paddy who is a talented actor with a flair for comedy that will ensure he fits right in with the Corrie cast."
McGuinness will start filming his episodes next month, which are due to air in August.
