BOLTON is preparing to serve up some serious talent when the Britain’s Got Talent team comes to town next month.

Researchers for the popular ITV show are touring towns across the country in a bid to find top acts for the show.

The Victory pub in Chorley Old Road is hoping to set the bar high at its auditions on Friday, September 4.

The BGT production crew visited the pub for the first time last year to tap into Bolton’s hidden talents and locals clearly impressed as the team have chosen to return.

Landlord Martin O’Gorman wants plenty of budding stars to make it along on the night.

He said: “They are going out into the heart of places and trying to find talented people who wouldn’t normally audition.

“Last year it was really enjoyable, there are quite a few acts out there in Bolton.

“There are lots of talented people in Bolton. It’s just a case of giving them a stage, so hopefully they will make their way down here.”

The show's star judges such as Simon Cowell and David Walliams will not be heading to Bolton.

Instead, researchers will make a one-off visit to the pub where they will be filming acts from 6pm until late.

Auditions filmed on the night are not for broadcast but will be viewed by the same producers who attend the larger auditions, giving everyone a fair chance of being chosen to appear on the show.

Acts interested in auditioning can book a slot through casting researcher Hally Booth.

She said: “The reason we do smaller regional tour is for people who might not necessarily get to the big auditions.

“Everyone in Bolton has been great getting behind it.

“Everyone who speaks to us is positive that we definitely find some talent here. We are very hopeful.”

People are welcome to come along to watch on the night and anyone interested in performing can email Hally.Booth@thames.tv
