EXCITEMENT is building in the Strictly Come Dancing camp as the contestants' music and dance styles are announced ahead of the new series on Friday.

Bury-born actress Georgia May Foote, who lives in Bolton, will dance the jive to Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor with her partner Giovanni Pernice.

She will join 14 other celebrities including Peter Andre, Jeremy Vine and Call The Midwife actress Helen George who will all begin their battle to become the best on the dancefloor.

The former Coronation Street star, who played Katy Armstrong, has also revealed her nerves ahead of the new series, which starts on Friday.

Six couples will dance on Friday, with the remaining nine taking to the dance floor on Saturday.

Judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood will critique the celebrities and give the dancers their first score, although none of the couples will be leaving the show this weekend.

The scores will be carried forward to next weekend when viewers will get their first chance to vote for who should stay in the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
