PHOENIX Nights fans have the chance to see some of the infamous cast back together on stage.

Bolton funnyman Dave Spikey is joining Ted Robbins, Janice Connolly and Steve Royle for a stand-up comedy fundraising gig for the Croston floods relief effort – and while the night time show has sold out, there are still tickets for the matinee performance.

The last time the cast got together was for the Phoenix Nights Live shows at Manchester Arena, which also included fellow Boltonians Peter Kay and Paddy McGuinness.

Dave was inspired to do the fundraisers after being shocked by the effects of the Boxing Day floods, and after taking part in a Cumbrian fundraiser he decided he wanted to do something a little closer to home.

He said: “I wanted to do it for the flood relief effort because I was so shocked about what happened on Boxing Day. I went up to Cumbria between Christmas and New Year to do a fundraising gig at Kendal Leisure Centre, which Jason Manford compared.

"It was a massive success – we raised £25,000 and about 900 people came. So this is a local version of that.

“You have really got to respect the northern spirit – still managing to smile saying it could have been worse when all your worldly possessions are ruined. I can’t imagine what it was like for them – having your house completely filled with water and everything destroyed. It really touched me.”

The matinee show takes place at Chorley Little Theatre on Thursday, February 4, from 4pm.

Dave said: “I’m hoping it will be a really good show. It’s a bit of a gamble doing a matinee performance but fingers crossed it will be well attended.

“It will be the first time we’ve been on stage together since the Phoenix Nights Live shows so it will be great to be reunited once again. I can’t wait.”
