THREE cheers for Bolton's X Factor stars as the trio of talent made their way into the next round of auditions.

Barman Christian Burrows, Girl Next Door singer Saskia Rosimus and boy band Yes Lad — featuring Cian Gleeson from Horwich, Luke Robin Gregory from Bolton — won over the judges during the Boot Camp stage of the popular ITV show.

Nineteen-year-old Burrows appeared on Sunday evening's programme where he performed Lukas Graham's Seven Years with two other contestants — Sasha Taylor and James Craise — in a bid to win over the judging panel led by music mogul Simon Cowell.

Before stepping out for their all-or-nothing rendition, Christian admitted: "It's completely daunting" and said if he was kicked out of the competition his first audition, in Manchester, would have all been for nothing.

To the delight of the other contestants watching on, the trio's version made its mark with Simon, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

Talking of Christian, Louis said: "He sang his heart out."

Backstage the Bolton lad admitted the live rendition was the first time in the day he had hit all the right notes during the closing phases of the chart-topping song.

With Sunday's edition showing selected highlights, viewers did not get to see how girl band Girl next door and boyband Yes Lad got on.

However, the five-strong group appeared on sister show Xtra-Factor which showed their audition singing Shawn Mendes' hit Stitches which got them through to the next stage and won praise from Nicole.

She said: 2This group, these boys, I'm so impressed with them."

Speaking on the show Cian, aged 19 from Horwich, said: "It was stressful, trying but good though!"

Girl Next Door, featuring 19-year-old Saskia from Lostock, also made it through on a performance of David Guetta and Ushers Without You.

She said: "In our performance I messed up slightly with the lyrics, they didn't air it, but I was quite shocked we got through.

"No one was sure if they were going to get through, it was such a mixed category and there was some great competition.

"It's the most amazing feeling ever to get through to the next stage, it's a rollercoaster of a ride!"

They will now all appear in the next phase of The X Factor, called the six chair challenge, where each category is whittled down to just six acts.
