A MERRY time was had by all as young thespians took to the stage for their final curtain call.

Cleveland Preparatory School's Year Six pupils gave one outstanding performance of the musical before they move on to the next stage of their school career.

All the final year pupils continued the school tradition of ending their time at the Heaton school on a high note.

This year, the bright young things staged Hoodwinked, a take on the much loved Robin Hood story, with parents and the school helping with the striking costumes.

And the pupils certainly proved to be showstoppers to ensure everyone had a merry time.

They staged a performance for the whole school and another for parents and even created their publicity shots in the school's ready made Sherwood Forest.

Dawn Critchley, Year Six teacher, said: "As a final flourish, Year Six pupils at Cleveland Preparatory School entertained parents and staff with their unique take on the adventures of Robin Hood.

"Their mature performance proved that these children are ready to move on and will be an absolute credit to their next school."

She added: "There's no hoodwinking this merry band."
