OPERA singer and cello virtuoso Matthew Sharp gave a music masterclass to young musicians.
The internationally recognised musician was at Bolton School, where he spoke to string player and also representatives with Bolton Music Service.
The evening culminating in a short concert of pieces by Michael Nyman and Vivaldi and some solo contributions from Mr Sharp.
The evening closed with an impromptu rendition of Coldplay's Viva La Vida.
