BOLTON Library has announced two of the artists who will be performing during National Storytelling Week.

Several events featuring storytellers will be held at the hub in Le Mans Crescent from January 27 to February 3.

Author Sally-Anne Tapia Bowes will perform her suitcase of stories from around the world, including tales of crocodiles in handbags, ropes around the moon and tigers blocking the stairs.

Mrs Bowes is known for novels including The Gift, His Mother and the Mr Crocodile Adventures.

She is set to perform in the children's library on Saturday, January 27 at 1.30pm and then again at 3pm.

Crafting sessions will be held between her readings.

And on Thursday, February 1 at 6.30pm, the library will host Ursula Holden Gill, who will perform On This Island.

It is described as an intricate weaving together of Celtic folk tales, songs, clog and Cotswold morris dances and her own contemporary stories.
