EX-PUPILS at Farnworth Grammar School are planning a special 50th birthday reunion celebration this month.

They are planning the reunion at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Chorley Street, Bolton on Saturday, February 28 from 6pm to 11.30pm.

The event is organised by Karen Openshaw, nee Vipond, and Jane Harrison, nee Davies, who would love to hear from as many ex-pupils as possible. "We last had a reunion 20 years ago when we all turned 30 and it was great," said Jane. "I've kept in touch with about 43 of them on Facebook and we're hoping for lots of people to come along on the night."

Among pupils the organisers would love to see again are Andrew Baker, Karen Robinson, Andrew Halstead, Jayne Whittle, Peter Tonge, Paul Longworth, David Broome, Tony Hubber and Janet Burrows, plus teachers Mr Whittaker, Mr Channing, Mr Lawrence, Mr and Mrs Jackson, Mr Patterson, Mr Wilkinson and Miss Lingard.

The get--together, which costs £8.50 each, will involve fun and friendship, and Jane added that they are looking for more school photos and pictures of schoolfriends to show on the night. "We have ex-pupils in New Zealand, Australis and America," added Jane, "so I'm taking my laptop along to the reunion so we can, hopefully, Skype some of them."

Anyone who would like more details and to attend should contact Jane on 0797 0863221.
