A MAN has been found dead in Farnworth.
The man, aged 43, was found in Higher Market Street at 3.35pm yesterday.
Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious and they have passed the details on to the coroner.
It has been suggested that the man was found in a flat at the end of Higher Market Street, near the junction between Bolton Road and Long Causeway.
His is the second non-suspicious death in Higher Market Street, after 41-year-old hairdresser Craig Durham was found hanged at Clyde's Gents Stylists last month.
Noor Patel, who works at Vali News newsagents, in Higher Market Street, said: “I looked outside and I could see loads of police cars and police officers.
“I was told there was a distressed girl outside but I didn’t see her.
“It’s very strange and very sad that this has happened.”
Another Higher Market Street worker, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I’m shocked to hear about this — it’s very upsetting and I want to pass on my condolences to any friends or family this man may have.”
