A FIRE-damaged cafe and chip shop is to be rebuilt in Farnworth.
AJ's Cafe, formerly the White Hart pub and Busters, in Albert Road, was badly damaged after a fire broke out.
At the most recent meeting of Farnworth Area Forum neighbourhood manger John Pye said they had contacted the owners of the building who confirmed construction of a new building of similar size would be taking place.
However, residents may have to wait another four to six weeks for anything to begin while insurance matters are resolved.
It is understood that nobody was inside the building at the time of the fire on May 25, which burnt through the chip shop and an adjoining derelict pub roof.
