TWO men have been charged with murder after a man was assaulted in Farnworth.
Alex Coglan, aged 28, and Ellis Hampson, aged 19, were charged yesterday and remain in police custody.
On Friday, June 9, police were called at 5.55pm to a report a man had been assaulted at around midday near to Century Mill, George Street, Farnworth. The man was taken to hospital but discharged himself the next day.
He was readmitted to hospital two days later and died on Tuesday. Coglan of Ramsay Avenue, Farnworth appeared before Bolton Magistrates’ Court yesterday and is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square on Monday.
Hampson, of Oakfield Drive, Little Hulton was due to appear today at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court, Crown Square.
A 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman have also been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
