STAFF at a car retailer raised more than £700 for Bolton Hospice.

Workers at Inchcape Volkswagen Bolton dressed in pink costumes, while some were also waxed in aid of the charity.

The event also featured an appearance from the year six choir at SS Osmund and Andrew RC Primary, who were given a guided tour of the retailer and interacted with members of staff.

This fundraiser was organised by Kerry Connaughton, whose father Ronnie was treated by Bolton Hospice before his death from stomach cancer, aged 60, in November 2010.

Miss Connaughton, a service advisor at the retailer, arranged the event to mark the fourth anniversary of his death.

The event raised £756 for Bolton Hospice.

She said: "It was a great event. The children were real characters - they were really interested in what we do here."

The SS Osmund and Andrew RC Primary pupils were introduced to staff from different departments at the retailer and were each given a gift bag.

Volkswagen Bolton raised the final amount through cake sales, donations and a raffle.
