SHE has taken to swimming like a duck to water.

And now brave Rosanna Ogden has smashed all her previous records by swimming a mile in just 80 minutes.

The gruelling 90 lengths did not faze her one bit as she strongly conquered the pool at the Last Drop Village in Bromley Cross two weeks ago watched by her proud mum Sally.

The four-year-old "water baby" had a life-saving operation just weeks after she was born has become one of the youngest children in the UK to swim 400 metres.

She amazed her parents Sally and Mick Ogden by paddling unaided at just two years old, after recovering from a rare, non-cancerous heart tumour.

She swims most days at the Georgian House Hotel in Blackrod, and can do front crawl and butterfly, as well as dive into the water.

Since she first took to water she has raised thousands of pounds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) — even becoming a poster girl for the charity.

Mrs Ogden, of Babylon Lane, Anderton, said: "I am so proud of Rosanna. Despite everything she has been able to swim more than most adults, never mind children.

"She did the 90 lengths in an hour and 20 minutes which is a tremendous achievement. She completely smashed it – I still can't believe it.

"She did it all without any problem at all. Her instructor was working on her breathing techniques and she took everything on with ease.

"It would be amazing for any four-year-old to swim that far, but because of her health problems it makes it all the more incredible."
