FAMOUS faces from Bolton are joining together to help raise money for a brave youngster's trip to America for specialist cancer treatment.

Whites legends Tony Kelly, John McGinlay and David Lee will be showing off their skills at a charity football match at The Roundhouse in Halliwell on Sunday to support Kiegan Wilcox.

The 12-year-old is due to fly over to Florida soon with his parents, Nina Fallon and Baz Wilcox, for proton therapy — which is not available in England.

The NHS has funded for Kiegan and one of his parents to fly over — so the family are hoping to raise money to pay for the other to join them.

The Thornleigh Salesian College pupil was diagnosed with the disease just before Christmas — which starts at the back of the nose, working its way through the glands into the neck and eventually spreading into the lungs.

Trisha Etches, from Farnworth, who has arranged the day, said: "I am so overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone giving their time and also donations for the raffle.

"I just had to do something to help Nina. Kiegan is such a gentleman. You would not think he had anything wrong if you met him because he is so brave and positive."

Auction items include a Real Mardrid shirt signed by Gareth Bale, a signed pair of Amir Khan's boxing gloves, fully signed shirts from BWFC and Everton FC and various signed footballers' photos.

Big Brother winner Helen Wood will be making an appearance at the fun day with ex-housemates Ash and Mark, and there will be entertainment for children such as pony rides, face painting, entertainers and a disco in the day, and raffles and auctioning in the evening.

The fun day begins at 10.30am with the football match. The event is free to attend, but people who attend are encouraged to donate via the raffle and auction.
