A BRAVE cancer sufferer shaved her hair off to help raise money to fight the disease.
Samera Ahmed, aged 65, of Winster Drive, Breightmet, collected donations of £350 which she handed over to volunteers at the Cancer Research shop in Newport Street.
Ms Ahmed was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2014, had a mastectomy in October and started chemotherapy at Royal Bolton Hospital on New Year's Eve.
She had been due to move to the Isle of Man in September but had to put the plans on hold following the diagnosis of the stage three aggressive cancer.
Ms Ahmed, who is from Bromley Cross and has five step-children, said: "Starting chemotherapy, I knew within a few months all my hair would fall out.
"I just decided to do it myself.
"It felt very different.
"I've got a wig I wear when I go out and about and I've got a scarf.
"I'm still going through chemo, I've got two sessions left which is about six weeks."
