DEMENTIA is a lonely disease — and sufferers can often feel isolated.
To demonstrate this Bolton’s top cop — Ch Supt Shaun Donnellan — took to the cells at Bolton police station in Scholey Street to do his bit for the campaign.
Ch Supt Donnellan, seen here in a custody suite with the Donate £1 for Dementia appeal's giant coin logo, said he fully supports the campaign.
He said: “We should all do what we can to help.
“Everybody should give a pound at least, because dementia is a growing problem and we are all living longer.
“Everybody has someone in their family with dementia or knows someone who has been affected by it.
“The thing not as many people know is that it can attack at any age.
“I call on everybody to donate a pound at least to make life a little bit better for those affected by dementia and their families.”
