LABOUR MP David Crausby has a long history of campaigning on health and social care issues in Bolton.

Elected in 1997, he has served his constituents in Bolton North East ever since.

Mr Crausby – seen here with the Donate £1 for Dementia appeal’s giant coin logo outside the Royal Bolton Hospital – is keen to support our campaign.

He said: “Donate £1 for Dementia is a great campaign and a really important issue for people with dementia.

“The organisers clearly have some really good ideas for how to make the hospital more dementia friendly – from special lighting to improving the ward environment.

“Going into hospital can be a difficult experience for anybody, but for someone who has dementia it is much more difficult.

“And dementia does not just affect the elderly – it can strike at any time.

“Hopefully this campaign will not only raise money to help make the hospital more dementia friendly, but will raise awareness of dementia generally as well.

“We have to be able to look after the people who need to be looked after in the best way possible, and anything the public can do to help will be a good thing.”
